We wish to inform you that the Department of Environment has announced the launch of a public consultation on the Draft Law entitled “The Industrial and Livestock Emissions (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) Law of 2026.”
The purpose of the Draft Law is to transpose into national legislation the provisions of the revised European Directive 2010/75/EU on Industrial and Livestock Emissions (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control), which entered into force on 4 August 2024.
This Draft Law establishes rules regarding the integrated prevention and control of pollution from industrial and livestock installations and activities. It also provides rules for avoiding, and where avoidance is not possible, reducing emissions to the atmosphere, water, and soil, as well as for preventing waste generation, improving resource efficiency, and promoting a circular economy and decarbonization, to achieve a high level of environmental protection overall.
Interested parties may submit comments until the 15th of January 2026 on the Draft Law via the e-Consultation website or by email to Ms. Aglaia Georgaka at ageorgaka@environment.moa.gov.cy .
