Young Professionals Internship Programme
The Technical Committee on Economic and Commercial Matters is pleased to announce the “Young Professionals Internship Programme”, which aims to give young Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots aged 18-35 the chance to acquire job experience, gain important professional skills, and develop a better understanding of the working and cultural environment across the island.
As a kick off, the project will start on a pilot basis with six young professionals to be selected based on their academic history and field of interest. Upon a positive evaluation of the results of this Pilot Phase, the project may be expanded in the future.
This programme is funded by the EU, implemented by UNDP in coordination with OSASG-Cyprus.
The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEBE) and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO) will be the local implementing partners, matching the companies and young professionals.
The chosen interns will be asked to select businesses based on their academic background and/or field of interest. Subsequently, the interns will be interviewed by the businesses of their choice. Each intern will have the opportunity to work for the business that selects them after a successful interview.
During the three-month internship period, each intern will receive a stipend of 600 Euros per month. The initiative will also provide employers’ liability insurance payment (where needed).
At the end of the three-month term, the interns will receive a certificate of participation, and the businesses will review their performance. This evaluation process ensures that the interns receive valuable feedback on their work and allows the businesses to identify potential candidates for future employment.
Moreover, this initiative offers young professionals the chance to meet and collaborate with professionals, creating opportunities for future collaboration and networking.
