Conducting Business Activities in a Free Zone

We would like to inform you that the Customs Department has issued a Circular ΕΕ- ‘EZ’ (7) dated December 28, 2023, notifying that the use of a printed application for the issuance of licenses to operate in the Larnaca Free Zone is abolished. This decision comes as the Larnaca Free Zone (Type II control) has been abolished since 2011 through the Revocation Decree – ΚΔΠ 230/2011.
Furthermore, businesses interested in conducting legal activities in the Republic of Cyprus, depending on their operational status, can obtain information:

a) from the website of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry if the specific industrial area operates under the responsibility of the Ministry, or
b) from the website of the Customs Department, if the business holds licenses for one or both of the following regimes:

1. Customs warehousing
2. Refinement for re-export
