Public Consultation – Draft Regulations on the Waste Management of Furniture, Mattresses and Carpets

We would like to inform you that the Department of Environment is conducting a public consultation on the draft Regulations titled “The Waste (Management of Waste Furniture, Mattresses and Carpets) Regulations.”

The new Regulations concern the management of waste furniture, mattresses and carpets in accordance with Article 11B of the Waste Law, within the framework of waste prevention and the promotion of reuse and repair.

In line with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle, obliged producers are those who place furniture, mattresses and carpets on the market, namely manufacturers and importers.

The Regulations will require obliged producers to establish collective waste management systems for the waste generated from these products.

The draft Regulations are available for public consultation on the e-Consultation platform.

Comments on the draft can be submitted until 26 October 2025, either through the e-Consultation platform or electronically at:

Cyprus–France Cooperation & Innovation Forum

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is pleased to inform its members that it is organising, in cooperation with the Embassy of France in Cyprus, and the Cyprus-France Business Association, the Cyprus–France Cooperation & Innovation Forum, which will take place on Thursday, 13 November 2025 (09:00-17:00), at the premises of the CCCI in Nicosia.
The Forum will highlight the growing collaboration between Cyprus and France in the fields of innovation, technology, and applied research, with particular focus on maritime and marine technologies, cybersecurity, spatial innovation, and disaster and risk management.

The event will bring together leading Cypriot and French companies, research institutions, and governmental bodies to explore synergies and foster new partnerships. The programme will include keynote addresses, presentations from innovative enterprises, B2B meetings, and a networking lunch.

Distinguished speakers will include representatives from the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Embassy of France in Cyprus, and major innovation-driven companies and organisations from both countries.

Participation is free of charge but requires prior registration. Interested participants will be able to register HERE.
