Public Consultation – Unified Waste Management and Prevention Law of 2024

We inform you that the Department of Environment, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, is conducting a public consultation on the Draft Legislative Framework that provides for the establishment and operation of a Single Body for the Prevention and Management of Waste between Central Government (Department of Environment) and Local Authorities (Municipalities, Communities).

The Single Waste Prevention and Management Body will contribute decisively to the achievement of the objectives adopted in the context of the transition to the circular economy and in particular in ensuring the coordination of procedures for the rational management of waste and the strengthening/support of the implementation of the waste management policy and specifically of solid municipal waste.

Based on the bill, this Body is a legal entity governed by public law, is managed by a Council, and is independent, without being subject to any Ministry, Deputy Ministry, Independent Service, or Department of the Republic of Cyprus. The purposes, powers, and responsibilities, as well as the Board of Directors, the staff, and the budget of the Body, are analyzed in the bill.

The Bill is put to public consultation on the online platform www.e-consultation.gov.cy and you are kindly requested to provide your comments until June 11, 2024.

Trade Mission to Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore

Attached below (PDF) , for your information, is an invitation and participation form for the Trade Mission to Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore from September 30 to October 12, 2024, organized by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and the Office of the Hellenic-Australian Chamber of Commerce.

The goal of the Business Mission is to promote exportable Greek Cypriot products and seek partnerships in a large continent with a high standard of living and demand for value-added products, where the vibrant activity of the Greek diaspora facilitates the ground for a Greek business presence in sectors such as food and beverages as well as other areas like pharmaceuticals, building materials, energy, technology, etc.

2nd Cyprus Diagnostic Survey for the Digital Transformation of Companies and Organizations in Cyprus

Following our previous circular which is attached below (PDF), and in the context of the 4th Conference and Exhibition “Technology-In-Action,” the 2nd Cyprus Diagnostic Survey for the Digital Transformation of Companies and Organizations in Cyprus will take place, with the aim of diagnosing the degree of development of technology, technological solutions and preparedness for cyber-attacks.

The questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes and the answers will be anonymous. The questionnaire is addressed to Supervisors of all departments independently. Under no circumstances will you be asked to disclose confidential information about your company.
