GDP growth rate in real terms during the first quarter of 2025 is positive and it is estimated at 3,0% over the corresponding quarter of 2024. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, GDP growth rate in real terms is estimated at 3,0%.
The positive GDP growth rate is mainly attributed to the sectors: “Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles”, “Information and Communication”, “Construction” and “Hotels and Restaurants”.

We would like to inform you that the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is organizing a Business Mission in the field of Biotechnology in Tokyo, from 7 to 11 October 2025, aiming to strengthen cooperation between European and Japanese companies.
Participation is open to innovative SMEs and organizations active in the fields of pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biotechnology, medical technology, and other related sectors.
The mission includes:
• Participation in BioJapan Expo 2025, one of the leading biotechnology exhibitions in Asia.
• B2B meetings with Japanese companies.
• Promotion of European companies through a collective presence at the EU Pavilion.
• Informative sessions on the Japanese market.
Prior to the mission, a preparatory webinar will be held, and participants will gain access to online collaboration platforms.
It is expected that 12 to 16 European companies will be selected, depending on the available budget.
