Announcement by the Cyprus Statistical Service – Average Monthly Earnings of Employees by Quarter

Based on provisional data, the average gross monthly earnings of employees during the third quarter of 2024, amounted to €2.351 compared to €2.230 during the third quarter of 2023, i.e. an increase of 5,4% is observed.

For the third quarter of 2024, there is an increase in seasonally adjusted average gross monthly earnings compared to the second quarter of 2024, of 1,3%.

The average gross monthly earnings of male employees during the third quarter of 2024 are estimated at €2.526 and of female employees at €2.133. Compared to the third quarter of 2023, the average gross monthly earnings of male and female employees recorded an increase of 5,4% and 5,5% respectively.

Announcement by the Cyprus Statistical Service – Consumer Price Index – Inflation 2,6%

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2024 increased by 0,10 points, reaching 118,31 points compared to 118,21 points in November 2024. Inflation in December 2024 increased at a rate of 2,6%.

For the period January – December 2024, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded an increase of 1,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Announcement by the Cyprus Statistical Service – Labour Force Survey – Unemployment 4,5%

According to the results of the Labour Force Survey, the labour force in the 3rd quarter of 2024 amounted to 516.127 persons or 65,7% of the population (males 71,0%, females 60,7%) in comparison to 511.596 persons (65,7%) in the corresponding quarter of 2023 (Table 1).

The number of employed persons was 493.054 and the employment rate 62,7% (males 68,0%, females 57,8%) in comparison to 483.317 persons (62,1%) in the corresponding quarter of 2023.

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 23.073 and the unemployment rate to 4,5% of the labour force (males 4,2%, females 4,8%) in comparison to 28.280 persons (5,5%) in the corresponding quarter of 2023.
