Med H2 aims to promote the sustainable management of water resources across Mediterranean islands by regenerating and enhancing their hydraulic heritage. Led by the Corsican Hydraulic Equipment Office, the project brings together nine partners from Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece and Italy by combining intercultural cooperation and traditional knowledge.
Med H2 helps island communities rediscover, protect and reuse their water heritage to face scarcity and climate change. The project fosters resilience, efficient water use and long-term stewardship of island landscapes.
The CCCI in particular will:
* contribute to the development of common strategic frameworks for the sustainable management of water heritage,
* mobilise local communities, including municipalities and private stakeholders to support pilot activites,
* promote educational initiatives focused on sustainable water use inspired by traditional heritage practices,
* share expertise in communication tools to strenghten the project’s outreach strategy,
* coordinate and host the transnational conference.
Through its participation, the CCCI reinforces its commitment to sustainable island development, helping to connect economic innovation and responsible use of Mediterranean water heritage.
