Informative lectures on the legislation regarding Unfair Trading Practices in the Agricultural and Food Supply Chain

The Cyprus National Rural Network, in the framework of the implementation of its action plan, organizes informative lectures to advise those involved in the agricultural and food supply chain on issues related to the implementation of the Law on Unfair Commercial Practices.

The lectures will be held as follows:

“Keys to Japan” – Compete for Sponsorship of your market entry plan for Japan

We would like to inform you that the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial is currently calling for applications for the EU initiative “Keys to Japan”.

Are you considering marketing a product or service in Japan? Do you need a professional market entry plan?

“Keys to Japan” is a European Commission-funded initiative, managed by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, which offers a tailor-made detailed business plan for entering the Japanese market to two (2) European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) selected through a competitive process and wishing to market their products or services in Japan.

Financial conditions for 2023/2024:
The plan worths €10,000: €9.000 are covered by the EU-Japan Centre, and €1.000 will be covered by the SME.

Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be citizens of an EU Member-State, working in a management position for a SME headquartered in the EU.

Applicants must be at least 20 years of age at the date of submission of the application form. Deadline for application: 3 July 2023 (h 17:30 Tokyo time)

Waste Law 2011-2022 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment

The Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, in an announcement, informs that in the context of its controls, it has detected in the market single-use products, which although declared to be biodegradable from sugar cane and free of plastic, according to the data provided by their production companies contain at least one polymer.

On the basis of the control, all producers and importers placing biodegradable single-use products on the market shall be invited to submit to the Department of Environment by Friday 14 July 2023 at the latest, laboratory analyses for each product by an independent accredited laboratory, expressly certifying that they do not contain any kind of polymer, including chemically modified natural polymers. This data should be sent to the email director@environment.moa.gov.cy.
