Extension of Vulcanesti 400 kV substation

We would like to inform you that the Republic of Moldova is launching a tender for the extension of the 400kV Vulcanesti Substation, as part of the Moldova Energy System Development Project which includes the design, supply and installation of facilities, financed by the World Bank.

Amended Planning Incentives for Affordable Housing

Enclosed please find attached (PDF Circular) for your information a bulletin from the Department of Town Planning and Housing regarding the housing policy as approved by the Cabinet.
According to the Department of Town Planning’s newsletter, the amendments to the two Special Planning Incentives are aimed at creating more suitable and attractive conditions for the promotion of affordable housing production and the promotion of the production of housing units in general. At the same time, the Minister of Interior has issued an amended Order for Affordable Housing to activate and improve the specific policy provision on the same subject, provided for in the Local Plans.

Public Consultation – The Cyprus Food Safety Authority Establishment Law Of 2024

In most EU Member States, the independent Food Safety Authorities operate effectively. In Cyprus, the food safety system is characterized by fragmented responsibilities regarding food safety, animal health and welfare, and plant health across various governmental departments belonging to different ministries.

The Ministry of Health seeks to end the scattering of services dealing with food safety by placing all under one umbrella, the umbrella of the Cyprus Food Safety Authority, with the main goal of coordinating and controlling the effectiveness of Cyprus’s food safety system.

For this reason, “The Cyprus Food Safety Authority Establishment Law of 2024” has been put up for public consultation. This law will govern the establishment, mission, powers, and responsibilities of the Authority. Additionally, it will define the organizational structure of the Authority to fulfill its mission and responsibilities.
