Presentations on Green Entrepreneurship

The CCCI in collaboration with the University of Limassol (UoL, the evolution of CIIM), in the context of the work of the Green Entrepreneurship Observatory, is organizing presentations on Green Entrepreneurship to inform businesses.

The need for businesses to adopt more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices is now known to everyone, and in many cases is part of the legal obligations of businesses. Some of the main obligations for a green transition that affect businesses are emission reduction, sustainable production, promoting sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.

The European Green Deal is central to promoting sustainable growth and green practices and provides important opportunities for businesses, including investments in innovation, research and development, as well as the creation of new green jobs. In the context of the presentations, interested parties will have the opportunity to be informed about:

  1. Mandatory commitments
  2.  The Green Entrepreneurship transition methodology
  3. Funding sources, including the I-STARS Grants Scheme for the transition of tourism industry towards sustainability, implemented by the CCCI and co-funded by the EC

Funding Schemes for private participation of businesses in exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad in 2023

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry announces that the receipt of applications from companies in the agricultural, industrial and services sectors for financial support for private participation in trade fairs, which took place or will take place between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023, under the three following Sponsorship Plans, has begun:

  • De minimis Aid Scheme for Cypriot companies active in the processing and/or marketing of industrial products, for private participation in trade fairs in Cyprus and abroad.
  • De minimis Aid Scheme for Cypriot enterprises active in the sectors of processing and/or marketing of agricultural products, for private participation in trade fairs in Cyprus and abroad.
  • De minimis Aid Scheme for Cypriot service companies, for private participation in trade fairs in Cyprus and abroad.

Amendment to the European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009

Regarding the above issue, we would like to inform you that two new Regulations have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union and they appear below. The following links also include the timetables for the implementation of the Regulations.

1. COMMISION REGULATION (EU) 2023/1545 of 26 July 2023
Amending Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards labelling of fragrance allergens in cosmetic products.

2. COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2023/1490 of 19 July 2023

Amending regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the use in cosmetic products of certain substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction.
