The Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment, in the context of the potential implementation of a Deposit Return System (DRS) for packaging and packaging waste in Cyprus, is organizing a presentation on the subject on Monday, June 12th, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. in the ground floor hall of the Ministry of Finance in Nicosia.

The presentation is organized on the occasion of:

1. The new proposal of the European Commission Regulations amending the basic Directive on packaging and packaging waste, which includes provisions for the mandatory implementation of deposit return systems.
2. the draft Regulations on Packaging and Packaging Waste (Deposit Return System) that were put up for Public Consultation in 2021. Numerous comments and suggestions have been submitted and collected for this particular draft, which will be presented for further discussion.
3. Additionally, the seminar will feature best practices and successful examples of the implementation of deposit return systems in other member states that have contributed to increasing recycling targets.

KEBE Tax Update to 260523

Σας ενημερώνουμε ότι το Υπουργείο Υγείας θέτει σε δημόσια διαβούλευση το Νομοσχέδιο με τίτλο «Ο Περί Ποιοτικών Προτύπων και στην παροχή Υπηρεσιών Φροντίδας Υγείας Νόμος», το οποίο ετοιμάστηκε με σκοπό τη ρύθμιση της εισαγωγής και τήρησης ποιοτικών προτύπων και κριτηρίων στη παροχή υπηρεσιών φροντίδας υγείας.

Το Νομοσχέδιο ετοιμάστηκε στα πλαίσια του Ευρωπαϊκού Προγράμματος Τεχνικής Στήριξης του Υπουργείου Υγείας «Πρόβλεψη Αναγκών Υγείας».

ΕΓΚΥΚΛΙΟΣ – ΔΗΜΟΣΙΑ ΔΙΒΟΥΛΕΥΣΗ ΥΓΕΙΑ

Το ΚΕΒΕ, η Κυπριακή Εταιρεία Πιστοποίησης και η εταιρεία M.M.C. Mediterranean Management Centre και στα πλαίσια συμμετοχής τους στο ευρωπαϊκό έργο “Towards a Holistic Transformation of Organisations into Learning Workplaces – LEARN”, σας προσκαλούν στο τελικό συνέδριο του έργου με τίτλο «Στρατηγική Μετατροπή των Χώρων Εργασίας σε Εργασιακούς Χώρους Μάθησης».

Το Συνέδριο θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Τετάρτη 14/06/2023, και ώρα 09:30-13:30 στο κτήριο του ΚΕΒΕ, 1ος όροφος.
Στο συνέδριο θα γίνει παρουσίαση τόσο των αποτελεσμάτων του έργου, όπως επίσης και της νέας καινοτόμου πιστοποίησης «Learning Workplaces» που αναπτύχθηκε από την Κυπριακή Εταιρεία Πιστοποίησης στα πλαίσια του έργου LEARN. Επιπρόσθετα, θα διεξαχθεί συζήτηση στρογγυλής τραπέζης για τη σημασία και τα οφέλη της μετατροπής των οργανισμών/επιχειρήσεων από ‘Χώρους Εργασίας’ σε ‘Εργασιακούς Χώρους Μάθησης’.

Το έργο “Towards a Holistic Transformation of Organisations into Learning Workplaces – LEARN” συγχρηματοδοτείται από το ευρωπαϊκό πρόγραμμα Erasmus+. Με δεδομένο ότι κάθε εργαζόμενος περνά μεγάλο μέρος του χρόνου του στο χώρο όπου εργάζεται, το LEARN στοχεύει να μετατρέψει το χώρο αυτό σε περιβάλλον μάθησης και το χρόνο εργασίας σε ευκαιρία διαρκούς βελτίωσης. Με αυτό τον τρόπο, επωφελούνται τόσο οι ίδιοι οι εργαζόμενοι, που έχουν την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν δεξιότητες που αφορούν την εργασία τους, όσο και οι εργοδότες, καθώς μέσα από το LEARN έχει δημιουργηθεί μια ισχυρή πιστοποίηση, που πιστοποιεί τους οργανισμούς τους σε χώρους μάθησης.

Το Συνέδριο θα διεξαχθεί στην Αγγλική γλώσσα, ενώ θα δοθεί Πιστοποιητικό Παρακολούθησης σε όλους τους συμμετέχοντες. Σημειώνεται ότι τα μέλη του Συνδέσμου Εγκεκριμένων Λογιστών (ΣΕΛΚ) έχουν τη δυνατότητα να καταθέσουν το Πιστοποιητικό για αντιστοιχία του σε μονάδες Συνεχούς Επαγγελματικής Ανάπτυξης (ΣΕΑ).

LEARN Final Conference

High concentrations of dust are observed in the air today, 29 May 2023, according to measurements from ground Stations of the Air Quality Monitoring Network operated by the Department of Labour Inspection.

The public, and particularly any vulnerable groups of population (children, older people, and the infirm) are urged to avoid circulating in open spaces until the observed episode has elapsed, as the small size of respirable particles in dust may have negative effects on human health.

Employers must take appropriate measures (organizational and/or technical) after assessing any risks that their employees may face while working in open spaces, and it is recommended that workers in such spaces use appropriate means of personal protection.

In detail, the latest hourly dust concentrations measured at 07:00 am in the following areas are:
Nicosia: 57.5 μg/m3
Limassol: 106.0 μg/m3
Larnaca: 80.5 μg/m3
Paralimni: 81.1 μg/m3
Paphos:-
Zygi: 114.7 μg/m3
Ayia Marina Xyliatou: 60.6 μg/m3

It is noted that ‘dust’ refers to respirable particulate matter of a diameter smaller than 10 μm (PM10) in the air. According to the relevant legislation, a limit value not to be exceeded is set for the daily average concentrations at 50 μg/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter).
