Cyprus – Estonia Business Forum with the President of the Republic of Estonia Mr. Alar Karis

On the occasion of the visit of the President of Estonia, His Excellency Mr. Alar Karis, in our country, you are invited to the Cyprus-Estonia Business Forum, which will take place on Wednesday 27th of March 2024, at the CCCI on the 1st floor.

This is an event of great importance for the business community, which aims to underline the strategic importance of the relations between Cyprus and Estonia and to facilitate the development of long-term synergies.

The Business Forum will be addressed by the President of Estonia, who will be accompanied by a business delegation consisting of 11 companies operating in the Maritime, Cybersecurity, and IT sectors.

The event will first start with a networking lunch between 13:30 – 14:30, to give participants the opportunity to meet and talk in person with members of the business delegation from Estonia and other attendees.

This will be followed by presentations on the latest trends, challenges, and developments in the fields of Maritime, Cybersecurity, and IT will be delivered by Deputy Ministers of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Mr. Nicodemos Damianou, and Shipping, Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis.

After that, companies from Estonia will present their products and services in an effort to connect them with the Cypriot companies that will participate in order to develop partnerships. To view the profiles of Estonian companies, click HERE.

Seminar from Metrics to Action Using Analytics to Drive Strategic & HR Decisions

Ολοένα και περισσότεροι οργανισμοί σήμερα μετατρέπονται σε ‘data-driven’ οργανισμούς, βασίζοντας την λειτουργία και τις αποφάσεις τους σε δεδομένα/τεκμήρια χρησιμοποιώντας την πρoσέγγιση των «Business Analytics». Υιοθετώντας μια τέτοια νοοτροπία και κουλτούρα, κατανοούν καλύτερα γιατί επιτυγχάνονται συγκεκριμένα αποτελέσματα, εξερευνούν πιο αποτελεσματικές και επιχειρησιακές διαδικασίες και προβλέπουν την πιθανότητα ορισμένων αποτελεσμάτων. Μέρος των «Business analytics» είναι ο καθορισμός δεικτών μέτρησης του οργανισμού (ΚΡΙς) και η σύνδεση τους με τις λειτουργίες του κάθε τμήματος.

Announcement by the Cyprus Statistical Service

Foreign Trade Statistics – Dec 2023 (Final Data) and Jan 2024 (Provisional Data)

Total imports of goods in January 2024 were €848,1 mn as compared to €1.735,1 mn in January 2023, recording a decrease of 51,1%. Imports from other EU Member States were €510,7 mn and from third countries €337,4 mn, compared to €529,1 mn and €1.206,0 mn respectively in January 2023. Imports in January 2024 include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels, with total value of €65,2 mn as compared to €936,3 mn in January 2023.

Total exports of goods in January 2024 were €281,5 mn as compared to €315,2 mn in January 2023, recording a decrease of 10,7%. Exports to other EU Member States were €103,5 mn and to third countries €178,1 mn, compared to €69,8 mn and €245,4 mn respectively in January 2023. Exports in January 2024 include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels and aircrafts, with total value of €69,5 mn as compared to €107,5 mn in January 2023.

The trade deficit was €566,5 mn in January 2024 compared to €1.419,9 mn in the corresponding month of 2023.
